Biodata for Vijay Mauree
Vijay Mauree, Programme Co-ordinator, Policy and Technology Watch Division, TSB, ITU
Vijay received his first degree in Computer Science with Electronic Engineering from University College
London, UK in 1992 and obtained his Masters degree in Information Technology from Imperial College,
Science and Technology, UK in 1993. In 2000, He obtained his MBA from Cranfield School of
Management in UK.
Before joining ITU, Vijay was working for the National Computer Board in Mauritius where he was in
charge of the Planning, Research and Development Division and had worked on the implementation of
two National ICT Strategic Plans as well as on the development of a national information security
strategy. He was also responsible for the setting up of the Government Data Centre and the national
Computer Emergency Response Team.
In June 2010 he joined the ITU-T Policy and Technology Watch Division in Geneva where he is
responsible for the implementation of projects under Bridging the Standardization Gap programme and
undertaking research for production of Technology Watch reports. He just finished publishing one ITU-T
Technology Watch report entitled ‘’ICT as an enabler for smart water management’’.
