Has experience in telecommunications industry spanning over 20 year after graduated
with a BSc in Electrical Engineering in August 1981 and currently pursuing MBA
specializing in strategic management at the same university. Post postgraduate studies in
space satellite applications at International Space University. A member of: the Institution
of Engineers of Kenya and; the Engineers Registration Board. Currently is the Head of
Regulatory & Public Policy Department at Safaricom Limited Kenya and Chairman of
GSM Africa. Responsible for management of licensing, regulatory and interconnect
policy matters; GSM Association; and ITU matters. Previously worked in various
positions at the former KPTC & Telkom Kenya, in international telecommunications
services and cellular mobile telephony, also contributed in the development of
telecommunications polices during the liberalization process in the industry. As the
Chairman GSM Africa has presided over many meetings and delivered presentations on
many regional and international conferences, including for Association and ITU.
