THOMAS V. WASILEWSKI Senior Director, Government Affairs, QUALCOMM Incorporated Thomas V. Wasilewski is Senior Director for Government Affairs for QUALCOMM Incorporated. His responsibility includes supporting corporate international relations with governments and international institutions (e.g., International Telecommunication Union, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development). Mr. Wasilewski also worked for a private consulting firm for three years providing advice to public entities (e.g., U.S. Agency for International Development, World Bank, International Telecommunication Union, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) and private clients on telecommunications regulatory matters, spectrum policy, wireless standards, trade issues and business planning. Mr. Wasilewski worked at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in both the Wireless Telecommunications and International Bureaus. At the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, Mr. Wasilewski was responsible for managing various rulemakings, including those related to introducing advance wireless services, and reassigning TV channels for commercial wireless use. He was also senior advisor to the FCC on the development of electronic surveillance guidelines and policies to implement the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act. Mr. Wasilewski also worked at the FCC’s International Bureau where he served as the Chief of the Multilateral and Development Branch. His responsibilities included managing the FCC’s involvement in various bilateral, regional and international programs (e.g., WTO Basic Telecommunications Agreement, Mutual Recognition Agreements, accounting rates). He also held positions at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, which acts as the principal advisor to the President on telecommunications matters. Mr. Wasilewski has a Master of Science in Project Analysis, Finance and Investment from the University of York in York, England. He received his BA from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana.
