Approval of Agenda and Minutes
1:10 meeting called to order. Minutes from 4/30/12 and 5/7/12 were distributed. Because there
was not a quorum, minutes and agenda were not approved.
Announcements:
Nov 5 meeting is cancelled. Meeting November 26 instead.
Partnerships
• Fall 2012 – Dual credential partnership in Fresno (phase 1), Sanger (phase 2)
• Spring 2013 – All beginning cohorts will be partnered with districts, with courses and field
experiences connected to that district. ECE program is having conversations with Steinbeck
in Central Unified, and evening cohort is having conversations with Clovis.
• Summer 2013 - Sanger
• Fall 2013 – Math/Science focus in Fresno, COS
Co-Teaching
• 194 total participants
• 4 co-teaching workshops with both components
• All phases had co-teaching overview as part of seminar (Kien Pham and Jose Lomeli
facilitated for EHD 178 and EHD 170; supervisors facilitated with EHD 174)
• Revamped handbook to require co-teaching strategy listed in lesson plans
• Ready to change the organization of workshops, focus on pairs workshops with less of the
overview of co-teaching
• Building co-teaching library of books and videos
• Not sure if there is money in the spring to keep it going
• Biggest expense is for subs during the week; and small stipend for teachers on Saturday
FAST
• November 8 – Comprehensive Lesson Plan Project (CLPP) administration
• November 16 – scoring for CLPP and Teaching Sample Project (TSP)
Registration workshop
• November 1 – 1:30-3:00
Electives – may be less in demand because grants are not funding the electives

• Proposed new courses in conjunction with the field experience, to incorporate the current
seminars plus additional topics.
• Additional seminar topics: additional management (ideas: giving feedback, preventative
planning, positive learning environment), dealing with parents (e.g. parent-teacher
conferences), field trips & special event planning, long range planning, teacher grant writing
Fresno Unified Partnership Planning, November 1 with FUSD; November 29 for science & math
• Math/Science, grades 4-8 focus
• Bechtel grant, residency program
• Admission requirements & agreements for future employment
• 20 teacher candidates
• Incorporate FUSD programs into current syllabi, e.g. CHAMPS for management
