“Enhanced capability for hard and soft materials simulation with MidPlus” By Dr David Quigley “I will give a broad overview of the range of materials properties routinely calculated via simulation, before focusing on two specific examples where the MidPlus facility has driven a step change in our capability. The first example is related to the synthesis of graphene on copper, where enhanced resources have allowed us to address the most experimentally relevant growth surface rather than the most computationally convenient. The second example is part of our work on crystal nucleation and growth in model systems, where use of MidPlus allows us to investigate correlations between multiple nucleation events for the first time”
