Patricia (Patti) Carr Sorenson

My name is Patti Carr Sorenson. I was born in Philadelphia, PA the oldest of 4 children
born to Edward and Helen Carr. I have been married for 38.5 years to my high school
sweetheart Ralph and we have one child, a son David who will soon be 35. I was the first
to go to college in my family and the first nurse. I got my BSN at FSC in 1970, my MSN
at CSULA in 1982 and my post masters Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certificate from
UCLA in 1992. I have worked in hospital Pediatrics, Peds ICU, Neonatal ICU,
ICU/CCU and was a house float for 11 years working in all areas of the hospital except
for Labor and Delivery, OR and ER. I currently work as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in
the 84 bed Level III NICU at Loma Linda University Medical Center. I am an Assistant
Professor of Nursing at Loma Linda University where for 5 years I taught NNP students
in the Master's program.
