This solicitation especially encourages projects that have the potential to transform undergraduate STEM education, for example, by bringing about widespread adoption of classroom practices that embody understanding of how students learn most effectively. Transferability and dissemination are critical aspects for projects developing instructional materials and methods and should be considered throughout the project’s lifetime. Priority will be given to proposals which are staffed by collaborative teams who document their expe- rience in making optimal use of existing local, regional, and national capabilities and capacities, and demonstrate their experience in conducting time-critical research. These projects are meant to spark Americans' engagement with the broader world by exploring one or more countries and cultures outside of the United States. The Division of Public Programs encourages the exploration of innovative nonfiction storytelling that presents multiple points of view in creative formats. The proposed film should range in length from a standard broadcast length of thirty minutes to a feature-length documentary. Through the program, SDCF assists colleges and universities in hiring guest directors and choreographers and proving the schools with funding and administrative support. SDCF publicizes the guest artist position to professional directors and choreographers nationwide, collects, and collates applicants’ materials, and sends materials to the schools for hiring decisions; SDCF plays no role in hiring.
