This multidisciplinary centre allows full-scale models to be built and tested in a safe but realistic manner. The image left shows the testing of a tube train layout, with people simulating the boarding and alighting of the carriage. • UCL researchers developed an integrated decision-making framework and model for EUROCONTROL, the European air traffic management organisation, to help evaluate and select technological enhancements to the European air traffic management system. • UCL helped the Arizona Department of Transport include meteorological factors in their environmental noise modelling, leading to new guidelines and designs in freeway noise barrier design.
