WearepleasedtoannouncetheinauguralWHITE2016DoctoralConsortiumasapre-conferenceevent
for the 7th Annual Workshop on Health IT and Economics (WHITE). The consortium will be held on
October20th,2016,from1pmto6pm,withadinnerfollowing,inAlexandriaVA.Theconsortiumwill
provideanopportunityfordoctoralstudentstoreceivefeedbackontheirresearch,networkanddiscuss
career issues. All interested PhD students and recent post-docs working on research in the areas of
healthinformationsystems,healtheconomics,clinicalfieldsandhealthpolicyareinvitedtoapply,aswe
areseekingmulti-disciplinaryconversations.

Acceptance to the consortium will be based on a review of the application materials. Preference for
attendancewillbegiventostudentswhowillhavedefendedtheirdissertationproposalsbutnottheir
dissertations by the date of the consortium, and to those whose institutions or fields would not
otherwiseberepresented.Thereisnocosttoattend,andparticipantswillreceivea$100discounton
themainconferenceregistration.Alimitedamountofadditionaltravelsupportmaybeoffered.
Theapplicationpacketshouldinclude:
1) A1-pageinformationaldocumentwith:Nameofapplicant;Institutionalaffiliation;Dissertationtitle
(ifapplicable);Expectedcompletiondate;Educationalbackground;Professionalbackground/prior
workexperience;Futurecareeraspirations.
2) Asummaryoftheapplicant’sresearch(maximumof2pages)
3) A brief letter from the dissertation chair/advisor supporting the student’s participation in the
DoctoralConsortium.
The due date for applications and letters of recommendation is August 1st, 2016. Decisions will be
