Sharon Falzon Dip.M.L.S.,B.Sc.(Hons)(M.L.S.),M.Sc.(Bio.Med.Sc.)(Ulster)
Sharon Falzon is a Principal Medical Laboratory Scientist working at the Histopathology Laboratory,
Pathology Department, Mater Dei Hospital. She obtained her Diploma in Medical Laboratory
Science in July 1996 and has finalised her studies for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in
Medical Laboratory Science in June 2000. In 2003, she was awarded with a distinction in Master of
Science in Biomedical Science at the University of Ulster.
Ms Falzon is a part-time lecturer in histology techniques to B.Sc. MLS students. She also supervises
and trains students at the Histopathology laboratory during their practical sessions. She was also
appointed co-supervisor to a number of B.Sc. MLS student research projects.
Ms Falzon participated in the Leondardo Da Vinci programme offered by the European community to
promote new practical approaches in vocational training policies. She has also attended courses
relating to histology, immunohistochemistry and in-situ hybridisation techniques.
Ms Falzon is a member of the National Society of Histotechnology (USA).
