(ASI) is hosting the third annual Fresno State 101, a three-week workshop series designed to educate students on the structure of Fresno State as well as the CSU system. FS 101 will showcase the importance of student representatives within the university and will provide leadership training for on and off campus positions. The first of 3 workshops will take place Tuesday January 27 at 4 pm in Library 3212. The discussion will focus on the importance of student representatives and their role in legislative victories for higher education. Guest lectures for Tuesday’s workshop include Lt. Col. Lorenzo P. Rios, Vice President of Student Affairs Frank Lamas, Provost Lynette Zelenzy, Vice President of Advancement Paula Castadio, Debbie Astone and Fresno State professor Thomas Holyoke. The second workshop will take place on Tuesday, February 3 in Library 2206. This will focus on the structure of Fresno State including budgets and safety. A panel of Fresno State staff and administrators will host this meeting. The final and third workshop will be on Tuesday, February 10 in Library 2206 which will cover the how students become student representative at Fresno State. Fresno State President Joseph Castro will be present at the final workshop along with ASI Coordinator Tara Powers-Mead and former ASI President, Jessica Sweeten. All students who complete the program will receive a student representative certificate. ### ASI is a body of elected student representatives that encourages student involvement in campus-wide decisions and funds student programs. As the student government we ensure that students’ rights are protected and their voices are heard.
