Media
Media can be displayed in one of two ways, either embedded into a page in OU Campus or as a hyperlink to
the media. The preferable ways to maintain videos is by using embed code from YouTube or creating a link to
a movie from the Fresno State streaming server. (Streaming server accounts can be created for users by filling
out a streaming server form from Technology Innovations for Learning and Teaching (TILT.)
NOTE: Any media used should have captions or a transcript of the audio to be compliant with Section
508 web accessibility standards.
EMBED A YOUTUBE VIDEO
1. To add a video to a page, in the WYSIWYG Editor place the mouse in the region of the page where you
want the new video to be inserted.
2. In a new window or tab locate the YouTube video you want to use.
a) Click on the Share button below the video
b) Copy the hyperlink provided below the Share button

3. Return to the WYSIWYG Editor in OU Campus and click the Insert/Edit Embedded Media

4. In the General tab, in the File/URL field, paste the hyperlink from YouTube.
5. A preview of the video can be played to ensure you have the correct video. You can verify this by
clicking the Play icon in the Preview window.
6. Click on the Advanced tab to add a Title to the video and change any other settings such as auto play
and loop. The settings in the Advanced Tab will be dictated by the “Type” selection made on the
General tab.
7. Click on the "Insert" button of any tab to insert the video on the page.

8. The media will not render within the WYSIWYG Editor. Instead it will appear as a yellow box the size of
the intended media. Click the save icon in the WYSIWYG Toolbar to preview the video.
9. Publish the page.
