Project Planning,
Management, and Control
WMG MSc Module
This module treats the management of projects in the widest
context of a business activity with specific limited objectives
and timescale. It encompasses both product development
and ‘change’ projects, providing an appreciation of the
issues and current techniques for successful project
planning and control, including the selection and motivation
of project teams.
This module is based on the curriculum of the Association
for Project Management, and students are expected to sit
the exam for the APMP qualification one week after the
module.

What will you gain?
The module will be delivered through lectures covering
theory and practical examples, as well as group exercises.
On completion, as a successful participant you should
expect to be able to:
cc Understanding project teams
cc Understand the requirements for effectively managing
and contributing to projects within the business
environment
Topics will include:
cc Projects within the company organisation
cc Project planning techniques
cc Cost planning and cost control
cc Project monitoring and review
cc Apply appropriate techniques to both plan, manage, and
control a project
cc Contribute to the formulation and management of
project teams from start to finish
cc Risk management
Duration: 5 days
Assessment: Post module assignment
