It is hoped the advice and guidance can be applied to all practitioners and contexts. It is also accepted that involving learners in the process of generating and developing ideas will enhance the learning experience. Emerging technologies The adoption and use of emerging technologies has long been a requirement of administrators within the workplace. The emerging technologies item of support for practitioners aims to raise awareness of the importance of administrators keeping abreast with new technologies. The advice and guidance also identifies and explores current innovations impacting on the role of administrators. There is an opportunity for an experimental, trial and error approach to the use of emerging technologies. The advice and guidance recognises the key skill of early adopters of emerging technology of being able to quickly evalua te the technology and find a positive purpose and application to complete administrative tasks more effectively and efficiently. This, coupled with the sizeable range of technologies given, has resulted in the avoidance of prescribed learner activities being incorporated in the resource. Practitioners could support learners in the adoption and use of such technologies to contribute to the successful completion of familiar administrative tasks.
