Direct Deposit Election in AYSO
• Add or update your own direct deposit information
using UC’s At Your Service Online
• This is the same place you go to view your earnings
statements, view and print your W-2s, and make open
enrollment changes.
– Experience the benefits:
• Convenient: 24/7 access to At Your Service.
• Safe: No need to share your bank account information
outside of the secure AYSO web site.
• Environmentally Friendly: Save a tree by getting your
payment and viewing earnings statements electronically.
• Cost Effective: Avoid costly check cashing fees, waiting in
line at the bank/ATM. Many banks offer free checking
accounts and lower rates for those with direct deposit!

Direct Deposit Election
• What is Direct Deposit?
– Direct deposit is a way for UCSF to send your pay to
your bank electronically and confidentially. Banks
are required to post your net pay on payday. Some
even make the funds available to you the night
before!
• What financial institution can be setup for Direct
Deposit?
– Only U.S. financial institutions
• Banks
• Credit Unions
• Brokerage firms

To get started…
• You will need to know:
– Your financial
institution’s routing
transit number (also
known as ABA number)
– Your account number
• Where to find this
information:
Note: As financial institutions have
merged their names have
changed and the name on your
account many not match the name
in AYSO. This is fine as long as
the routing number you use is
correct.

The prenote process
• What to expect
– The information you update in AYSO will be reflected in
the UCSF payroll system in about two business days.
– Once the banking information you update in AYSO is
reflected in the UCSF payroll system, a 10-12 business
day “prenotification” period begins.
• Prenotification is a process where an electronic notification
is sent to your financial institution for account verification.
• You will receive a paper check until the prenotification
waiting period has passed.
– Your paper check will be delivered by the U.S. Postal
Service to your home address of record.
– Please be sure that your home address (must be a US
address) in At your Service Online (AYSO) is accurate
and up to date at all times.
