However there should be food allowed. (22) Thanks for making the library a great place to study and get things done! (24) I do appreciate the services offered at the Cabrillo library. (26) Pct 100 29% 2% 3% 51% 3% Staff at check out’s really friendly and approachable; able to answer questions and always ready to help. Love coming in and being greeted by such wonderful people! Thank you. (27) I believe the library is doing well in all areas. It can get noisy around 10:30 by the computers, but there are quiet places to go to. (28) You guys rock! (30) I love the Cabrillo library. And circulation is the best! So helpful. (31) Library = learning College=knowledge DUH (32) Good job keeping the library clean and organized. (33) Open on Saturdays. Overall, I love coming to the Cabrillo library! Great job! (34) I see the library staff interacting in a pleasant manner with all people. I let my RN license elapse 20 years ago and I’m able to study here and hopefully take my RN state board in the next month. I got my BSN from Chico in 1976, a lot of things have changed since 1976 . . . including my short term memory filing. Thank you for letting me be a guest student. (35) Library is awesome. (37) Michele the librarian with the glasses is awesome. She’s phenomenal. (38) One of the reasons I chose Cabrillo was because of the library. (42) The library staff is awesome! Always helpful! The computers are great. (46) Love the library. (45) Keep doin’ what you do! (50) Everything is good for me. (51) Keep up the good work. (59) Great job! (60) The library is an awesome place to study and is a good resource to succeed at Cabrillo. (62) Overall the Cabrillo library is an excellent resource that I can always depend on. (64) I have always been impressed by the librarians’ level of availability and helpfulness. Thank you. (65) Thanks for providing a quiet place where I can hide and study! I’m always so busy and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be alone and take care of the things I need to! (67) My favorite library. (68) All staff are friendly and very helpful. I also like being able to use the library’s online database from home. (69) I love the library! (75) Great job. (79) Very impressed with all the services that are provided here, from application on the computer to tutorials. Thank you! (87) The library should be open 24/7. I love the library. Have a nice day. I want to be able to eat food. Thank you for your time. (89) Everything is lovely! Great library, great staff! (92) I love the library! I wish it was open more often like on weekends and later hours on Fridays. Or maybe have a 24 hour study lounge open on campus like UCSC. Students need more safe study environments. (93) As a student, I like studying in the library very much and the staff are doing really good jobs. (95) It’s been good so far. (96) You’re all doing a good job, I’m surprised you’re doing this. I’ve never had an issue with the library before. (99) The library really helps me get my work done (101) The library is really helpful. (104) The Libr-10 class showed me how helpful the online databases are so I have used them to find sources for several assignments this semester. (105) I had trouble with the copy machine and person came to help me. I like it so much. (107) Staff is great and very helpful. I always complete my goals here. (108) We love the library. (109) Negative comments They’re just rude, like they don’t care about their jobs. (19) Not everyone appears to be working. (39) Some library staff not friendly when check out books. Don’t feel comfortable. (41) Your staff needs a sense of humor. The young ones don’t get my jokes like the far more awesome seasoned staff does. (43) Comments on Library hours Being open on the weekends would be amazing. (8) Wish you were open on weekends. (11) Extend the open hours. (18) Open on Saturdays. Overall, I love coming to the Cabrillo library! Great job! (34) Longer hours. (48) A bathroom and a Starbucks inside the library, and longer hours to study more. More wishful thinking some schools are so underfunded. A library that was open 24/7 would be great. I’d get so much more done! (55) The library should be open 24/7. I love the library. Have a nice day. I want to be able to eat food. Thank you for your time. (89) I love the library! I wish it was open more often like on weekends and later hours on Fridays. Or maybe have a 24 hour study lounge open on campus like UCSC. Students need more safe study environments. (93) Computer-related comments I’ve never heard of the library’s online databases. (3) WIFI is sketchy. Only works for short amount of time, all my peers have the same problem. (10) Printer system can steal your money if the print job fails. (15) Given the foot traffic during peak hours, it is sometimes difficult to find either a table or computer work station. (17) Database very limited didn’t like so much but were okay. (49) I’m not familiar with the EBSCO, CQ researcher. (54) I did not know they had iPads . . . maybe notify/expose that option. Have computer software where you can use Mac typing programs on a PC and vice versa. (61) I noticed that the Wi-Fi is a little slow at 52 mps and created a small procedure issue. (63) None of my classes would benefit from the library’s database despite it being very useful for finding media. Also I love the library manikin in front, very pleasantly silly. The staff is always so pleasant to talk to. Also sometimes it sounds like they’re wrestling upstairs. (66) Monitoring the computer/work station area. Always a lot of people socializing that makes it difficult to study. (72) Maybe get a scanner. The only ones I know of are in the CTC. (77) Get more computers. (80) I often use computers here to write essays because the internet is better and I can go between research articles and my paper faster than on my own computer. (85) Apparently you can’t save things like PowerPoint presentation on one computer and access them on another computer. Flash drive is not downloaded onto every station. (86) Using databases for English research paper but not enough relevant databases need more. Found good articles in databases outside Cabrillo. (91) The Hawknet login screen does not work for Chrome browser. (102) Study Rooms More quiet rooms. (13) I like the quiet rooms. (14) More study rooms, computers. (29) The group rooms are being used by mostly one person when there are groups that need it. (52) Too many group rooms with only one person when people in groups really need them. (53) Appointments should be requested for use of the only two conference rooms in the library. It would make it fair for everybody to get a chance to use it instead of somebody monopolizing it. (57) We should be able to eat in the rooms. (90) Enforce groups of two or more in study rooms more diligently. (106) Building issues People in the back are very loud. (16) (Dup) Given the foot traffic during peak hours, it is sometimes difficult to find either a table or computer work station. (17) Couches! Students want to hang out and study comfortably. (25) Quieter (36) The closing routine of putting on a light show is infuriating. (44) Pretty loud most of the time. (70) Maybe a few more study desks, but it is mostly fine. (76) Great workspace should be less social and quieter downstairs though. (78) Miscellaneous suggestions/comments Free food (1) However there should be food allowed. (22) Give me a back rub. (23) Smoothie cart. (40) (Dup) A bathroom and a Starbucks inside the library, and longer hours to study more. More wishful thinking some schools are so underfunded. A library that was open 24/7 would be great. I’d get so much more done! (55) The library can try getting more information from the classes to help students study. (56) Complimentary paper for the a**holes to do graffiti on to save the desks. (58) (Dup) None of my classes would benefit from the library’s database despite it being very useful for finding media. Also I love the library manikin in front, very pleasantly silly. The staff is always so pleasant to talk to. Also sometimes it sounds like they’re wrestling upstairs. (66) Catered food, assorted drinks and refreshments. (71) Smoothie machine. (73) There needs to be a smoothie cart in here. (74) PDFs of popular magazines (for our tablets) etc. (81) I usually study here in-between my classes. (84) It would be nice to be able to bring in small snacks. (88) I suppose aesthetically there is something to be desired, but this would be an understandably difficult issue to address. (94) More clearly posted signage about Library policy. (97) As a student I take studying seriously. (98) Overall, everything is good, but I’ve had conflicts finding books at specific times. (100) I wish I had more time to spend studying! (103)
