Building 1000 is one of our busiest on campus. AED has been requested for that building.

Building Access


Areas around the Aptos Campus, especially along the
Soquel Drive side of lower campus, have shrubbery and other brush that could hide attackers.

The consensus was that, as a rule, the College should be closed at 10:00pm, except for special events.
Faculty and Staff are encouraged to report safety concerns to FPPO through Track-It. Students are encouraged to tell the Student Senate, an instructor, or a staff member.

No, students should not be using facilities when campus is closed. Faculty or staff supervision is required for students wishing to use campus facilities and arrangements need to be made in advance.

Known problem areas have been addresses by trimming shrubbery 20ft off of pathways. Planning to trim landscaping near Lots A/B. Blackberry vines near bus stop at Sesnon House have been removed.


Discussion turned to specific areas of concern: lighting at the backside of 600 and in Lot M is too dim; blackberry bushes at Sesnon House bus stop are providing a screen.
