Summary: Attached please find the relationships of ITU-T Study Group 17 with ISO, IEC or ISO/IEC JTC1. TSB Note: Rapporteurs are invited to review the status of the relationship for their Question and report on any necessary changes. In response to WTSA-12 Resolution 7, Collaboration with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and to an earlier TSAG request (see 9.1/TSAG R 26, January 2008), SG17 maintains a table that lists SG17 relationships with Technical Committees (TCs) of ISO and IEC and Subcommittees (SCs) of ISO/IEC JTC1. Attention is drawn to the last column (level) which identifies the nature of the relationship as follows: Level 1: joint work (e.g., common texts or twin texts) Level 2: technical collaboration by liaison mechanism Level 3: informational liaison Table 1 - Relations among ITU-T Study Group 17 and ISO, IEC and ISO/IEC JTC1 SG Question Title ISO, IEC Level 17 Q1 Telecommunication/ICT security coordination JTC1/SC27 2&3 17 Q2 Security architecture and framework JTC1/SC27 1&2 17 Q3 Telecommunication information security management JTC1/SC27 1&2 17 Q4 Cybersecurity JTC1/SC27 JTC1/SC38 ISO TC215 2 2 3 17 Q5 Countering spam by technical means JTC1/SC27 2 17 Q6 Security aspects of ubiquitous telecommunication services JTC1/SC6 JTC1/SC25 JTC1/SC27 JTC1/SC31 IEC TC57 IEC TC65 ISO TC204 1&2 2 2 3 3 3 3 17 Q7 Secure application services JTC1/SC6 JTC1/SC25 JTC1/SC27 JTC1/SC31 ISO TC68 SC2 2 2 2 3 3 17 Q8 Cloud computing security JTC1/SC27 JTC1/SC38 1&2 3 17 Q9 Telebiometrics JTC1/SC17 JTC1/SC27 JTC1/SC37 ISO TC12 ISO TC215 IEC TC25 3 1&2 1&2 2 2 2 17 Q10 Identity management architecture and mechanisms JTC1/SC27 JTC1/SC38 ISO TC68 1&2 2 2 -2- SG Question Title ISO, IEC 17 Q11 Generic technologies to support secure applications JTC1 JTC1/SC6 JTC1/SC7 JTC1/SC27 JTC1/SC31 JTC1/SC37 JTC1/SC38 ISO TC46 ISO/TC154 ISO TC215 ISO TC204 ISO TC247 IEC TC3 IEC TC57 1 1 1 2&3 2&3 2 3 2 3 2 3 2 2 2 17 Q12 Formal languages and telecommunication software and testing JTC1/SC7 JTC1/SC22 1&3 1&3 Table 2 - Mentioned IEC TCs, ISO TCs and ISO/IEC JTC1/SCs IEC Title IEC TC3 Information structures, documentation and graphical symbols IEC TC25 Quantities and units, and their letter symbols IEC TC56 Dependability IEC TC57 Power systems management and associated information exchange IEC TC65 Industrial-process measurement, control and automation ISO Title ISO TC12 Quantities, units, symbols, conversion factors ISO TC46 Information and documentation ISO TC68 Financial services ISO TC204 Intelligent transport systems ISO TC215 Health informatics ISO TC247 Fraud countermeasures and controls ISO/IEC JTC1 Title JTC1/SC6 Telecommunications and information exchange between systems JTC1/SC7 Software and systems engineering JTC1/SC17 Cards and personal identification JTC1/SC22 Programming languages, their environments and system software interfaces JTC1/SC27 IT Security techniques JTC1/SC31 Automatic identification and data capture techniques JTC1/SC37 Biometrics JTC1/SC38 Distributed Application Platforms and Services (DAPS) Level -3- Table 3 - List of ISO Committees in formal liaison with ITU-T Reference Title Type JTC1 Information technology A TC12 Quantities and units A TC36 Cinematography B TC37 Terminology and other language and content resources B TC46 Information and documentation A TC204 Intelligent transport systems A TC215 Health informatics A TC247 Fraud countermeasures and controls A CASCO Committee on conformity assessment A JTC1/SC2 Coded character sets A JTC1/SC25 Interconnection of information technology equipment A JTC1/SC27 IT Security techniques A JTC1/SC29 Coding of audio, picture, multimedia and hypermedia information A JTC1/SC31 Automatic identification and data capture techniques A JTC1/SC32 Data management and interchange A JTC1/SC37 Biometrics A JTC1/SC38 Distributed application platforms and services (DAPS) A JTC1/SC6 Telecommunications and information exchange between systems A JTC1/SC7 Software and systems engineering A TC159/SC4 Ergonomics of human-system interaction A TC68/SC7 Core banking A TC8/SC6 Navigation and ship operations B Notes: Liaisons A: Organizations that make an effective contribution to the work of the technical committee or subcommittee for Questions dealt with by this technical committee or subcommittee.
