We have partnered with RCHN Community Health Foundation in a grant proposal to train medical assistants in geriatric care. We are awaiting grant approval. If the grant is not approved will continue with plans to add to our current curriculum. None Keeping in compliance with accreditation through CAAHEP Continue to work on strategies to meet (MAERB/AAMA) is an ongoing process. Our department MAERB thresholds for accreditation continuously has open dialogue about meeting these thresholds and maintaining our program accreditation. Our department received a Federal/State grant. A large portion of the funds will be used to redesign the program so that we are meeting the appropriate thresholds as outlined by our accreditation. If not every thing was completed, explain why. The MA program has updated SLOs for all courses/program. These courses were assessed in Fall 2012 and will be discussed at the department meeting during flex week Spring 2013. Also, the certificate of achievement/AS degree for Medical Insurance Specialist was assessed in the fall and will be discussed at the department meeting during flex week Spring 2013. It was determined that the SLOs that were assessed needed to be updated. The updates for all course/program SLOs were done through the curriculum process which began in Spring 2012.
