The integrated mathematical and analytical approach developed in this project may help to determine the extent to which the preclinical and/or clinical studies will be needed for generic or follow-on version of drug products containing these complex molecules. EPA is interested in supporting research on the development of sound science to systematically inform policy makers at the state and local levels regarding the development of innovative approaches to enable effective implementation of air pollution control strategies to achieve the greatest public health benefits by reducing exposure to harmful air pollution. Priority research areas include: 1) enhancing understanding of spatial and temporal differences in individual pollutants and pollutant mixtures within and across different areas (including urban areas, or between urban, suburban, and rural areas) or geographic regions; 2) identifying and improving the characterization of the most important factors contributing to regional or cityto-city differences or similarities in air pollution and health effects beyond topography and meteorology; 3) improving the ability to understand and project how these contributing factors and differences may change over the next one to several decades; and 4) advancing scientific knowledge and tools needed to develop robust strategies for air pollution control to improve public and environmental health under a variety of conditions, including consideration of approaches for addressing climate change preparedness. The CSBR program provides for enhancements that secure and improve existing collections, result in accessible digitized specimenrelated data, and develop better methods for specimen curation and collection management. Requests should demonstrate a clear and urgent need to secure the collection, and the proposed activities should address that need. Biological collections supported include established living stock/culture collections, vouchered nonliving natural history collections, and jointly-curated ancillary collections such as preserved tissues and DNA libraries. The cooperative agreements will fund research to conduct secondary data analysis of the Building Strong Families (BSF), Supporting Healthy Marriage (SHM), and Community Healthy Marriage Initiative (CHMI) datasets. Successful applicants will demonstrate a familiarity with the proposed data for their analysis and an adequate understanding of the variables, sampling, methodology, etc. used to construct the dataset necessary for completion of the work proposed in the application.
