Cabrillo College Associate in Science Degree Radiologic Technology Program REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION AND CLINICAL PLACEMENT Requirements for admission include successful completion of the program prerequisites listed below, and the completion of the application process. Selection is based on completion of all required prerequisites with the appropriate GPA, clinical space availability, and date of application. The program has a separate selection process and requires separate application in addition to the general College admission. For students not currently enrolled at Cabrillo College, general college application materials are available in the Admissions Office and on the Cabrillo College web site. The program has additional clinical compliance requirements and minimum physical and non­physical standards that are necessary for clinical placement. Prerequisite: a college chemistry course such as CHEM30A or CHEM32 is the prerequisite for BIO 5; Elementary Algebra (Math 154) or placement into Intermediate Algebra (Math 152) by assessment is a prerequisite to CHEM30A or CHEM32. These prerequisites may also be used to satisfy appropriate general education areas. ​
It is required that pre­requisite courses, specifically Bio 4, Bio 5 and MA70, be completed within six years. Applicants are permitted to repeat any pre­requisite course for a better grade provided the course was completed more than six years ago. A repeat petition must be signed by the Dean of the Division in which the course is offered before the course can be repeated. Prerequisite courses completed at other schools may be used if the school is regionally accredited and if the course is equivalent to Cabrillo College requirements. Please see a counselor or check ​

for more information if you are interested in transfer to a 4­year university in Radiologic Technology after RT program completion. When meeting with a counselor, bring unofficial transcripts for all college coursework to your counseling appointment. GPA requirements for admission are as follows: ● All prerequisite and published curriculum courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better with the exception of MA 70, which requires a minimum of a “B” grade. of 2 General Education Requirements: General Education, A.S. Degree requirements do not have to be completed prior to application and admission to the RT program. It is highly recommended that they be completed prior to the start of the program, due to the rigor of the core coursework. A Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts Degree from a regionally accredited college or university will satisfy all general education and competency requirements for Cabrillo College non­transfer A.A. and A.S. degrees, with the exception of the multicultural requirement and program specific graduation requirements. This A.S. Degree requires completion of a 21­unit general education pattern (​

Math 152 Health Screening and Clinical Compliance: To comply with federal, state and local regulations for health care providers, students accepted to the Cabrillo College Radiologic Technology program are required to meet health screening and clinical compliance according to program guidelines, including vaccination and drug testing requirements, and provide documentation thereof. Students are also required to complete a criminal background check. ​

Before clinical placement all students will be required to obtain a Physician’s Authorization documenting their ability to meet minimum physical and non­physical standards. These standards are available on the website and in the RT Student Policy Handbook. ​
