Interpreting Plan and Forecast Data in MyReports (MYR-208a)
How is Plan and Forecast data brought into and displayed in MyReports?
Data in the Plan and Forecast columns of the MyReports Operational and Management reports come from UPlan, the new planning system implemented as part
of Finance3.
• Plans are created annually in UPlan during the spring for the next fiscal year and are fed to the data warehouse in June each year. Once the Plan is
finalized, the data is not updated during the fiscal year. MyReports pulls the UPlan Plan data out of the data warehouse and incorporates it into the
reports.
• Forecasts are monthly updates to plans developed in UPlan. Forecasts will contain actual financial results for closed months and updated forecasts for
the remainder of the year. Forecasts are fed to the data warehouse on the 15th of each month. Planners have until the 14th calendar day of each month
to make any changes in their forecasts. MyReports pulls the forecast data out of the data warehouse and incorporates it into the reports.
UPlan does not use the new chart of accounts in exactly the same way as PeopleSoft. When viewing Operational and Management reports, it is important to
understand the differences. The following table describes the differences:

• Reports run at Account Level D, E, or F for non-FAS units will not contain any plan or forecast data.
• Similarly, reports run at Account Level F for FAS will not contain any plan or forecast data
• Planning in UPlan occurs for Current and Plant funds only.
• Reports run for Agency, Loan, or Endowment Principal Funds will not contain any plan or forecast data.
• Planning in UPlan occurs at a higher level of the DeptID tree for some departments in SOM and SOD.
• For these departments, reports run at a level below the planning level will not contain any plan or
forecast data.
• UPlan does not store plans for individual projects in four project uses:
o Sponsored projects
o Recruitment projects
o Retention projects
o Faculty/PI/Other projects
• Operational and Management reports run for an individual project within these project uses will not
contain any plan or forecast data.
• Projections for individual projects within these projects that are Faculty-controlled occur in Faculty
Portfolio.
• To run a report for individual projects that are Faculty-controlled, users can run a report from the
Faculty Portfolio tab within MyReports.

Are there any funds that have been excluded from planning in UPlan?
The following funds have been excluded from planning: Agency Funds (beginning with a 2), Loan Funds (beginning with a 6), and Endowment Principal Funds
(beginning with a 75).
