Abstract by: Graciela Braga ICT should and must be an enabler to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development. Its contribution will depend on how well it is governed and managed in a context of sustainability as a strategic priority. For this, stakeholders have to manage benefits and risk factors; comply with external regulations and internal standards; be agile to respond in a timely and efficient manner to a changing environment; focus innovation on longterm sustainability aspects; plan, build, run and monitor existing and new IT; and invest in training. COBIT 5, the latest ISACA’s guidance on the enterprise governance and management of IT, can assist in achieving this goal.
