Introducing Your New Advisor, Kristin Richards
Dear Students,
I am writing to provide an update on your transition to a new academic advisor. We are pleased
to welcome Kristin Richards (krichard@american.edu) to the SIS Graduate Advising staff.
Kristin comes to SIS from New York University where she worked in undergraduate academic
advising and transition programs with the College of Arts and Science. She also completed an
MA in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs there. Her other experiences in
higher education include career services, religious and spiritual services, and non-traditional
adult programs. She is excited to be in Washington and working with graduate students in SIS.
Kristin will begin accepting appointments on Monday, February 10. Until then, Marley Crutcher,
Assistant Director of Graduate Advising will be accepting appointments for students in the IPCR,
EPGA, IER and IE programs. Until February 10, email inquiries should be sent to
crutcher@american.edu.
You will have the opportunity to meet Kristin in a more informal setting at an upcoming advisor
meet-and-greet with your program. Additional information is forthcoming, so stay tuned. In the
meantime, please join me in giving Kristin a warm SIS welcome.
