SUMMER ESL
INSTITUTE
Spend your summer experiencing Northampton! Northampton
Community College offers a comprehensive Summer ESL Institute
for international students and visitors. The program is designed
for students who have a basic level of English and want to
expand their command of the English language. After
taking an English language proficiency test, students
will be placed into their appropriate levels. Students
may be processed for an F-1 or J-1 Visa.
FAST FACTS
»» The curriculum is divided into three levels of reading, writing, speaking, and culture.
»» Classes are held four days a week, Monday through Thursday, for a total of 16-24 hours per week.
»» Optional cultural trips are available on the weekend & include Bethlehem/Easton (Daytrip), Philadelphia (Daytrip or
Overnight), Washington D.C (Overnight), and New York City (Daytrip or Overnight).
»» Health insurance is required for all students with a student visa.
»» All program-related activities are conducted on NCC’s Main campus, Bethlehem, located one and a half hours west of NYC and
one hour north of Philadelphia.

All students must take a minimum of six credits. Exact tuition will be determined after testing and placement.
ON-CAMPUS HOUSING
Northampton Community College offers on-campus housing for students enrolled full-time in this summer program. Students
living on campus will have a campus meal plan and use of on-campus facilities. Single or double rooms are available.
LANGUAGE LAB
Learning a new language can be difficult. ESL students can learn English more effectively with additional practice and support.
