Designed for nurses (RN or LPN) returning to practice, updating their skills or
reactivating their Pennsylvania State license. Includes a clinical and a lecture
component with an emphasis on nursing process, current nursing practices,
nursing trends and ethical/legal issues and pharmacology/drug administration.
This course is offered in fall and spring at the Fowler Family Southside Center.
The reactivation program consists of clinical, skills lab and lecture. The clinical component of each class will run
concurrently with the classroom instruction and will be held at a local acute care facility.
Class dates: Mon., 6-10pm, Aug. 29 - Dec. 12, 2016 (LPNs are not required to attend all lectures, dates TBD)
Skills lab: Sat.-Sun., 9am-5:30pm, Oct. 1-2, 2016

Please complete a Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check, FBI Clearance and Child Abuse Clearance. You
must also complete a signed Felony Disclosure form.

Proof of malpractice insurance. If needed, please contact Nurses Service Organization at www.nso.com or
1-800-247-1500 or another malpractice insurance provider.

Proof of personal health insurance. For those not currently enrolled in a healthcare plan, you may obtain shortterm, personal health insurance. For more information, please visit www.northampton.edu/studentinsurance.

Current BLS certification. If you require certification, please visit www.northampton.edu/healthcare and click on
CPR/First Aid for current courses.

Completed comprehensive NCC Health Form (physical, titers and immunizations) and Student Information Form.

Uniform: solid white uniform, uniform shoes or white leather/vinyl sneakers & stethoscope. (Required for clinical)
