FAST FACTS
Thank-you for enrolling your child in the Horizons for Youth summer program. We look forward
to an exciting summer. Below is a summary of key pieces of information.



Check your enrollment information, immediately for correct dates, sections, and
classes.
You may review and print out your child’s schedule at
www.northampton.edu/lifelearn under My Information. If you have any questions,
please call the Youth Department at 610-861-4120.
Use the map to locate and confirm your child’s classroom and camp room.

Reminders
 Registration for a class/camp will not be accepted on the day the class/camp begins
(Monday). You must register the day before (Sunday) by 11:59 pm.
 If you need extended care before 9 am or after Noon, you must pre-register and pay for
Camp Northampton Childcare; don’t wait - Camp fills up fast and space is limited!
Please make sure your child is registered for a class in addition to Camp Northampton
Childcare.
 If attending Camp Northampton Childcare, you must be registered for BASE Camp as
a minimum (Up to 12 hours). If you need more than 12 hours, make sure you
purchased additional hours of 13-24 hours or Unlimited Hours.
 Camp Northampton Childcare is in operation from 7AM-6PM Fridays. Please note the
college will be closed Monday, July 4, 2016; classes and camp run Tuesday-Friday this
week.
 College offices and services are closed on Fridays between May 27 and Aug 12, 2016.
 Class/Camp Northampton Childcare withdrawals must be made by e-mailing
youthinfo@northampton.edu. Please refer to the Horizons for Youth catalog or

refund policy.
 Snack policy: Due to dietary concerns, the college does not provide a snack during
students’ 9 am-Noon programming. Parents should provide a healthy snack for midmorning. Snack will continue to be provided in the afternoon/extended day program.
 Afternoon classes are ONLY for Gr. 4&5 and 6-9. Gr. 3 and below are not eligible.
 If your child is registered for a class at Fowler Family Southside Center and you need
wrap-around childcare, we can provide transportation from Main Campus at no additional
cost. You should have chosen an “Optional item” during checkout to inform us whether
or not you require transportation. Van/bus will depart Main Campus promptly at 8:45
AM – Students may be dropped off by 8:40 am at their Camp Northampton room or after
8:40AM outside Kopecek Lab Theater. Van/bus will depart FOWLER at 3 PM and return
to Main Campus by 3:30 PM - Students may be picked up outside Kopecek Lab Theater
by 3:30 PM or they will be escorted to their respective Camp Northampton room. Parents
may also drop off (9 am) and pick up (3 pm) directly at Fowler.

If your child is attending morning and afternoon classes but not Camp Northampton
Childcare, you must call to receive and complete a Camp Lunch Release Form. Grades
6-9 only.
Please review with your child the Discipline Policy.
If your child takes medication during class/camp hours you must complete a Medication
Authorization Form. This is available on the youth homepage or by calling the youth
office at 610-861-4120.
Students with documented disabilities, requiring accommodations, i.e. an interpreter, an
aide, etc, must check in with the Horizons for Youth office, 610-861-4120, prior to
May 20.
Safety Issues
 Please remember to park in designated parking areas only, access roads are for drop-off
and pick up only, you cannot leave your car unattended in these areas.
 Please escort your child to and from class/Camp Northampton Childcare. Parents must
drop off and pick up at classrooms. If you are a parent of a 6th-9th grade student and
choose not to accompany your child to his/her class, you must send a note giving
permission for your child to meet you. Without a note they will not be released from the
classroom.
 If someone other than the parent is picking up, you must send in a note informing the
teacher/counselor who will be picking up. Make sure that person has a photo ID.
 If for any reason you are delayed in picking up your child, please call us at 610-8615574. We will escort your child to the Camp Northampton Childcare room for pick up.
 In case of a local or national emergency, call 610-861-4595 to receive a recorded
message that will give specific information and procedures or check our website,
www.northampton.edu , for current information.
