BLUE SAIL PROGRESS REPORT 2 EAST NORFOLK MARKETING PROJECT AUGUST 2010 TOURISM PROGRESS REPORT 2 - AUGUST This is the second monthly update for the East Norfolk Tourism Marketing Project. 1 UPDATE ON TASKS We had a client conference call on 29 July to update you on progress and to discuss the Progress Report 1 and the workshops. Consultations – we have completed a small number of outstanding consultations: David Hunter, previous Chairman, North Norfolk Tourism Round Table Robert Simmons, Chairman, North Norfolk Tourism Round Table Workshop Planning – we have agreed a format, venues and an invitation list for the 3 business workshops to be held in early September. Specifically, we have: developed a process and timeline for the workshop delivery contacted the 3 LAPs for recommendations on invitations developed a database for invitations drawn from the North Norfolk database with additional names and businesses Market segmentation – we have undertaken a market segmentation exercise and identified target segments for East Norfolk. We will discuss these with businesses at the workshops and they are included in the Interim Paper (see next item). Interim Paper – we have developed an Interim Paper that brings together the audit and market segmentation. This is currently being finalised and will be sent by email during next week. Photography – you asked us to identify some marketing quick wins that need to begin now. Our first recommendation is to put together a tourism image library for the Pathfinder area. Delivery of the business workshops on September 8, 9 and 16. Production of a workshop summary paper. We will work up any further ideas for quick win marketing activity and share these with you for your feedback and instructions. Develop the marketing plan. Discuss with you the purpose and timing of the stakeholder workshop. . 2
