Objection o Pro: There will be times when you can’t find someone in a hall who wants a position. o Con: If someone from, say Clark, couldn’t be found, assigning someone wouldn’t resolve the issue at all. o Motion to amend the amendment to say “Therefore be it further resolved that if no such person may be found, a member of the Executive Board would be assigned to represent each hall until a constituent of that hall can be found that does not have representation.” Vote: amendment passes Motion to change the first whereas clause to say “…represent multiple constituencies as defined by the Hall Council, and…” and the first therefore clause to say “…one representative from each individual constituency that a single…” Objection o Debate o Motion to change the first whereas clause to say “multiple constituencies and/or buildings” and the first therefore clause to say “from each indificual constituency and/or building…” Seconded, passed Vote: Amendment passes Motion to vote on the resolution as amended Seconded Vote: 39-0-0, resolution passes o Line Item Request Wants to allocate the leftover money to new line items, so if we want to use the money later, it’ll be easier Motion to approve the change Seconded, passed New Business o Resolution 11-12-003 Cindy Zhang presents the budget Paige Leong presents the history of Founder’s Day Ball Questions: Is SG also increasing their contribution? o They’re working on a bill to increase their contribution by $15,000 How much will tickets cost? o Right now, at $10, but with the increased budget it might lower. Why is money being cut from the programming budget? o Because it is a program. What are the “40- and 11- Restricted? o Just extra money that wasn’t included in the budget. Will this be a standing line item from year to year? o Yes. Motion to end questioning o Seconded, passed Motion to approve the resolution o Objection Debate Pro: The event was fantastic, but there wasn’t enough food. Con: We would need a constitutional amendment to pass this, as is. o Point of information: Not true. Line items aren’t part of the constitution. Motion to limit debate to three more minutes o Seconded, passed Pro: The event will be better with more money. Point of Information: How much did we give last year? o $30,000 Three minutes have passed Motion to close debate and vote o Seconded, passed o Vote: 34-3-3, resolution passes as written o Hall Discretionary Request: Tenley Halloween Jim Williams presents Requesting $125, not $250 (and the total cost of the event is $255, not $500) Questions: o Will this be advertised to everyone, or just WSP?
