A recent graduate of Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, Dan received a BA in Political Science with a minor in French. Dan is from Pittsburgh, PA and moved to D.C. in January to pursue his graduate studies in SPA. Dan is also a Writing Tutor at the Academic Support and Access Center and has prior experience working as a Resident Assistant at Allegheny College. As the Off-Campus Housing Assistant, Dan supports students and staff in their search for local Dan Kochik, Off-Campus Housing Assistant area housing. He provides resources to individuals on their off-campus housing search, educates members of the AU community on their rights and responsibilities living off-campus and organizes programming for commuter students. Possession of marijuana American University is smoke free. AU receives federal funding, including student federal financial aid. Marijuana use and possession are prohibited on AU’s property. Possession of paraphernalia related to marijuana is prohibited on AU’s property. (Following Legalization in DC) Federal Property Possession is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 1 year in prison and up to $1,000 for a first offense. Sale, distribution, or other crimes could result in a felony. Possession or consumption in Federal Public Housing is illegal. (ex. The Mall, many DC parks, etc.) NonFederal Property For those OVER 21: Possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana is allowed. Possession of 6 plants (only 3 may be mature) is allowed within private residences. Use of marijuana is only allowed within private residences. Consuming marijuana is different… It is still a criminal offense to smoke/consume marijuana in public places, including streets, alleys, sidewalks, parks, and vehicles on any street, park, parking lot, etc. >>>>>These offenses will still result in arrest.<<<<<
