ENDOWED SCHOIARSHIP FUNDS
ALVIN R. AI.LISON SCHOLARSHIP--A scholarship endowed
by Levelland attorney Alvin R. Allison who is
affectionately known as "the father of the Texas
Tech Law School."
DURWOOD H. BRADLEY SCHOLARSHIPS--Scholarships
endowed by Mrs. Durwood H. Bradley and friends
and relatives in memory of Mr. Bradley, who was
a prominent Lubbock attorney for many years.
The scholarships are awarded to deserving
students.
KENNETH H. BURNS SCHOLARSHIP--Scholarship endo~~ent
established by rne.mbers of the Victor H. Lindsey
Senate of Delta Theta phi Law Fraternity to
honor their outstanding Houston alumnus, awarded
to students who are members of the national
organization, in good academic standing, and
actively involved in the local Senate; Mr.
Burns has also been a generous contributor to
this fund.
ROBERT GUY CARTER SCHOLARSHIP--Endowed by partners
of the Dallas law firm of Carter, Jones, Magee,
Rudberg & Mayes, in honor of Robert Guy Carter
who founded the firm and who has been a longtime
supporter of Texas Tech University and the Law
School. These scholarships are awarded to
worthy students who a.re in need of financial
assistance.
WILLIAM C. CLARK SCHOLARSHIPS--Endowed by Mrs. J.
C. Clark and David G. Clark in memory of their
son and brother, a Lubbock attorney and a member
of the Texas Tech Class of 1942. These
scholarships are awarded to second or third year
students.

CRENSHAW MEMORIlili SCHOLARSHIP--A scholarship in
memory of Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Crenshaw Sr ..
Mr. Crenshaw was a partner in the Lubbock frim
of Crenshaw, Dupree and Milam from 1926 until
his death in 1964. The fund is endowed by
members of the Crenshaw family and scholarship
awards are based on financial need and academic
achievement.
FIRST GRADUATING CLASS SCHOLARSHIP--A scholarship
endowed through contributions by members of the
first Texas Tech graduating law class of
1969-70.
GEORGE H. ~~HON FELLOWSHIPS--A scholarship grant
endowed by the Litton Foundation in honor of Mr.
Mahon, the distinguished former Congressman from
Lubbock. These fellowships are awarded to worthy
recipients in any class.
MCNHORTER TUITION SCHOLARSHIP--A scholarship
endowment established by Mr. & Mrs. Ray J.
Diekemper, Jr. to honor Lubbock attorney OvJen W.
Mcvlliorter. The recipients are encouraged to
exercise the same high ethical standards as set
by Mr. Mc"~orter.

FUND--A scholarship grant endowed by longtime:
Lubbock resident Mrs. Nelson and the late Mr.
Nelson and their children. The scholarships are
awarded annually to second or third year

JOHN H. SPLAw~ JR. ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP--A
scholarship established in honor of trial
attorney Johnny Splawn who has practiced law in
Lubbock since 1952. The fund is endowed by
Splawn's law partner and his wife, John ('74)
and Carolyn Simpson.
W.F. SHIVER SCHOLARSHIP--A scholarship established
in honor of W.F. Shiver, superintendent of Post
schools. The fund is endowed by Judge David E.
and Larisa Shiver Keltner ('86) of Fort Worth.
CUR'!' F. STEIB, JR., MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP--A
scholarship awarded annually to a student in
financial need in memory of Curt Steib, Jr., a
member of the class of 1977, The grant is
endowed by his family, classn~tes, and friends.
TEXAS TECH LAW SCHOOL FREEDOt-1 SCHOLARSHIPS--A
scholarship fund created to assist students who
have overcome serious social, economic,
educational, or physical handicap in attaining
a legal education.

W. D. WILSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP--A scholarship
awarded annually by the children of the late
Lubbock attorney W. D. Wilson and presented
through the Ex-Students' Association.

Dillard, a Lubbock attorney, in memory of his

awards presented to the Chair of the Board of
Barristers, the Administrative Director of the
Legal Research Board and two outstanding member's
of the Law Review.

by 1971 Texas Tech law graduate Ernest Reeves

Judge Blair who served as District Judge for

in honor of the winning team and coach of the
1979 National Moot Court Competition.
MARVIN JONES LOAN FUND--Funds for short-term
loans to law students made available by the late
Judge Jones, a leader in the establishment of
Texas Tech, a former Congressman from West
Texas, and former Senior Judge on the u.s. Court
of Claims.

and other financial assistance to law students
in need, created by the Lubbock County Bar
Association and friends of the late Judge
Victor H. Lindsey of the 72nd District Court,
at the suggestion of his widow, ~trs. Lindsey.
DREH SIMPSON MEHORIAL FUND--Fund to aid students
in financial difficulty, established by the
family, colleagues, and friends of Drew Simpson
(174) on his death in February 1972.
TEXAS TECH LAW REVIEW SCHOLARSHIP AND LOAN FUND-This fund, initially established as a loan
fund, will eventually increase to permit the
awarding of scholarships. Recipients are
limited to members of the Texas Tech Law Review
staff.

established by students, colleagues, and friends
of E. Wayne Thode, a visiting professor during
Fall 1979 from the University of Utah, for his
