This interactive discussion
will address initiatives to
scale up the level of
investment in sustainability
and the private sector’s role
in promoting a national and
global sustainability
transition. Specific projects
to be discussed will include
the Regions of Climate
Action (R20) Green
Accelerator Investment
Fund, the President's
Global Development
Council and others.
FEATURED SPEAKERS INCLUDE:
William K. Reilly: serves as a Senior Advisor to
TPG Capital and as a member of President
Obama's Global Development Council. Mr. Reilly
previously served as Administrator of the U.S.
EPA, president of World Wildlife Fund, president of
The Conservation Foundation and co-chair of the
National Commission on the BP Deepwater
Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling.
Lynn Scarlett: serves as the Global Managing
Director for Public Policy at The Nature
Conservancy. In this role, she influences climate
and nature-based solutions policy—in the United
States and the 69 countries in which the
Conservancy influences conservation.
Terry Tamminen: co-founder of the R20 Regions
of Climate Action, a new public-private
partnership focused on implementing measurable
and climate resilient economic development
projects that can simultaneously solve the climate
crisis and build a sustainable global economy.

The Scher Sustainability Forums explore major environmental and energy policy issues, as well as highlight
the very best in sustainability practices throughout the nation and the world. The Scher Forums are made
possible through the generosity of Peter Scher, a graduate of American University’s School of Public Affairs
and Washington College of Law (WCL), and his wife, Kim Tilley. Mr. Scher serves as the Chairman of the
Washington, D.C. Region and Head of Corporate Responsibility at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. He has served on
the AU Board of Trustees since 2010 and also serves on the WCL Dean’s Advisory Council.
