The new energy management system (EMS) is based on AREVA T&D’s renowned e-terra™ application suite and is running at Hydro One’s primary control center in Barrie, Ontario and its backup control center in Richview, a neighborhood of Toronto, Ontario. Hydro One now benefits from all the features of e-terraplatform version 2.5, which includes essential elements to help utilities comply with North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s (NERC’s) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards.
