What is a Bill Payment Period (BPP)?
SSW 2016-2017
The Department of Education requires the disbursement of federal funds based upon a Bill Payment Period. For many programs with standard length academic
terms, a Bill Payment Period is equal to the length of an academic term. Since the Smith School for Social Work is a program with academic terms substantially
unequal in length, please see the chart below for details of the SSW BPPs.
Tuition is assessed 50/50 per BPP. Please see Other SSW Program Fees under Tuition and Fees and also Plan for Major Bill Due Dates under Student Accounts for
more info on other charges & their bill due date/s, if applicable.

Federal aid and, in general, institutional aid is disbursed 50/50 per BPP. Institutional Aid that does not disburse 50/50 includes Living Stipends, Field Scholarships &
