Government Defeat in Lords
on Offender Management Bill

On 23/05/2007 the government had a defeat in the House of Lords on an
amendment to the Offender Management Bill: To require that contracted-out
providers of probation services ensure that there is no conflict of interest between
the services they provide and their own financial interests, particularly with respect
to advice given to the courts.
This was defeat number 23 in the parliamentary session.
