Government Defeat in Lords on Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005 (Continuance in Force of Sections 1 to 9) Order 2010 Wednesday 03/03/2010 On 03/03/2010 the government had a defeat in the House of Lords on an amendment to the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005 (Continuance in Force of Sections 1 to 9) Order 2010: To regret that the regulations, which permit the use of control orders, have not been replaced with an alternative that is 'just and effective', and to call upon the government to introduce primary legislation to limit control orders to a year (non-fatal).
