Government Defeat in Lords on Welfare Reform and Work Bill Monday 29/02/2016 On 29/02/2016 the government had a defeat in the House of Lords on an amendment to the Welfare Reform and Work Bill: To insist to not remove the work-related activity component of the Employment and Support Allowance, but requiring only a delay until the Secretary of State has presented an impact assessment report before both Houses. This was defeat number 28 in the parliamentary session.
