Government Defeat in Lords on Housing and Planning Bill Monday 11/04/2016 On 11/04/2016 the government had a defeat in the House of Lords on an amendment to the Housing and Planning Bill: To allow planning authorities in England to decide on the provision of starter homes in residential developments based on their assessment of local housing need, removing the Secretary of State’s power to make regulations on the matter.
