The following provides information and instructions for establishing access to BannerWeb@Smith
and course-related systems for individuals who are teaching courses at Smith but are not paid directly
by Smith. (A different process applies for those who are paid directly by the College.)
BannerWeb@Smith is an online system that provides instructors and advisers with access to
components of academic and registration records via the World Wide Web. The system can be
accessed from any computer that has an internet connection and runs one of the recommended internet
browsers.
Using BannerWeb, authorized individuals can view teaching schedules, search the schedule of classes,
view class lists and waitlists, and view advisees’ course schedules, transcripts and other general
information. You may also submit student grades via BannerWeb. For further information about

If you would like access to BannerWeb@Smith during the term you are teaching at Smith, complete
the following section and send it to Cynthia Di Geronimo (cdigeron@smith.edu), Office of the
Provost/Dean of the Faculty, Smith College. Following receipt of this completed section, you will
receive your Banner ID via email; the Registrar’s Office will notify you via email when your
BannerWeb account has been established. At that time you will have your Banner ID and PIN, which
are needed to access BannerWeb.

The Registrar’s Office at Smith communicates via email sent to the instructor’s Smith email account.
When you receive your Smith Banner ID complete the Computer Network and Email Application form
to request Novell network and Smith email accounts. Send the completed form
to Smith’s ITS User Support Center in Stoddard Hall (413-585-4487).

Moodle is a web-based course management system used by instructors to place course materials on the
web, and by students to access those materials. Additional information is available at
http://www.smith.edu/its/tara/moodle.html . If you would like to use Moodle, send a request via
email to Kevin Wiliarty, kwiliarty@smith.edu, with the following information: your first and last
names, email address, your Banner ID number (if available), and the name(s) of the course(s) you are
teaching. Alternatively, you may go to Smith’s ITS User Support Center in Stoddard Hall to request a
Moodle account.

If you would like to be included in Smith’s Online Campus Directory, complete the Employment
Eligibility Verification Form I-9 and present it in person with the required identification documents
to the Smith College Office of Human Resources, 30 Belmont Avenue (413) 585-2260.
