AGENDA ITEM 3: ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT BOARD (PMB)
Meetings
1. The PMB will meet three times during the course of project. The first meeting will advise on
initial stages of the project including advising on data collection. The second meeting
will review progress of the research at the half-way stage and make suggestions with regard to
interviews and user focus groups for the second half of the research. The third meeting will
review the progress made just before the final completion of the project and will advise upon
possible dissemination activities and future research developments.
2. In between these meetings the project team will keep PMB members informed of research
developments via a regular email (about every two months) and also via news on the project
website.
3. As necessary and appropriate project team members will also contact and meet PMB members
on an individual basis to explore issues of particular interest and expertise.
Role
1. The primary role of the PMB is to oversee the working of the project team and to offer
support and guidance to help ensure that the project is completed successfully and to
identify areas of particular risk and to make suggestions to overcome that risk. Members of
the board have been invited on the basis of their different areas of expertise and knowledge
and the project team will seek to make the best possible use of this expertise and knowledge
with regard to further research, interviewees, possible research outcomes and important
channels of dissemination.
2. Secondly, members of the PMB are asked to help raise awareness of the project within their
respective fields by drawing the attention of others to the existence of the project and in
particular of the project website and by enabling wide circulation of research outputs.
