Professor Debra Roter, is an international expert in health communication
research from the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins
University. She is the developer of the influential Roter Interaction Analysis
System (RIAS), which has been used in over 150 studies world-wide.
The seminar will explore dialogue sequence and turn taking from both
qualitative and quantitative perspectives; and a new approach to
conceptualising and interpreting the structure of medical dialogue.
There are opportunities for a limited number of one-to-one meetings
with Professor Roter after the seminar (1:30pm to 3:00pm), but you
need to book early.
