Freelance translators, undergraduate and postgraduate translation students Course Objectives By the end of the day you will be conversant with the main principles that regulate audio description for film Software WinCAPS Course Content After a definition and a brief introduction to the different types of audio descriptions available, you will be taken through the technical constraints of adding audio description to film, where image, sound and speech need to be perfectly understood in order to be taken into account when an all encompassing aural equivalent (AD) is in order. You will be given the opportunity to see different approaches to the audio description of film and will be taken through the fundamentals of audio description. During this practical workshop, you will work with different materials that will enhance your image reading skills and give you the basic tools needed to audio describe moving images.
