Biography and History
The Keweenaw National Historical Park was established to preserve and interpret the copper-mining
history of the Keweenaw Peninsula. The park's Advisory Commission, composed of seven volunteers
appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, oversaw this study, which was funded by the Americana
Foundation, the Federal Highway Administration National Scenic Byways program, the National Park
Service, and private donors.

the survey. The reports contain information about the historic resources identified over the course of the
project. The Final Report and Historic Preservation Plan identifies critical issues for historic preservation
in the Copper Country and discusses goals that address those issues. The collection includes interim
