Sentry Insurance is pleased to announce our Student
Leadership Scholarships. The scholarships are
designed to help and encourage individuals with
proven leadership potential who choose to pursue
careers in business, finance, accounting, math or
computer science.
Sentry’s purpose in sponsoring the scholarships is to
provide quality educational opportunities for the best
and brightest students. We want to help develop
individuals with vision, creativity and dedication to
lead all sectors of society. Sentry believes that by
supporting the education of gifted young people, we
are investing in America’s future.

Description
Sentry Insurance will award two Student Leadership Scholarships to incoming freshmen attending selected
universities. Each scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,500 per school year. The scholarships
are available for up to four years, as long as the recipient continues to maintain eligibility requirements.
Eligibility requirements
The Sentry Insurance Student Leadership Scholarship promotes educational opportunities and
encourages the educational pursuits of gifted academic leaders who have chosen to major in any of the
following disciplines:
• Business Administration
• Computer Science (MIS)
• Accounting
• Finance
• Mathematics (Actuarial Science)
The annual scholarships are renewable for up to four years as long as the recipient:
• maintains a grade point average of 3.3 or above;
• continues to pursue a degree in one of the five areas of study outlined above.
Selection criteria
The Sentry Insurance Student Leadership Scholarship is designed to help develop future business and
community leaders. Recipients of the award will be selected based on the following criteria:
• Credentials that place them in the top 15 percent of their high school graduating class;
• Involvement in extra-curricular activities, community activities, charitable organizations and other
endeavors which indicate significant leadership records and outstanding leadership potential.
Application guidelines
• The universities are responsible for providing scholarship information to school counselors, for
actively recruiting students who meet the scholarship criteria and for handling the application and
selection process.
• Each university has an established committee that will review all applicants and select recipients.
• Financial need will be considered on an informal basis, especially as a tie-breaking consideration.
• Sentry Insurance retains the authority to change future scholarship criteria.
