The Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleasecl to declare

l2u'January, 2016 as public holiday in Himachal Pradesh on account of general
election of PanchayatiRaj Institutions of District Kangra and Municipal Con-rmittees i1
the State (in the areas of those PRIs and Municipal Committees, where the elections are
schbduled to be held) on the respective dates (in case poll is held). All Government
Offices, Boards, Corporations. Educational Institutions and Industrial Establishments
sitLrated
in the Himachal Pradesh uncler Lrdustrial Disputes Act and shops wili
closed on the said date in the areas of above Institutions. This
will
rernain
also be apaicl holiday
to daily wages employees and also within the meaning of Section 25 of Negotiable
Instrument Act 1881.
It is, hou'ever, clarified that special casual
leave may be given to those
employees who are working in different places in the State but have a right to vote in
above Panchayati Raj Institutions/ Municipal Committees, on the production of
cerlificate lrom the concerned Presiding Officer that the employee has actgally cast his/
her vote.

paid holiday to the Industrial Workers on poll day as provided in Section 135B of the Representation of People Act, 1951.
