Community Civic PartnerE.P. Roberts Center
This semester participates of AAMI have volunteered
their Thursday afternoons with The E. P. Roberts Center,
here in Barnesville to assist with student homework, reading, and learning sight words. AAMI will continue to work with the
E. P. Roberts Center in the future.
Helping Students Achieve Their
Academic and Personal Goals
The AAMI at GSC welcomed Elder Jerome Cofield and Minister Regina Cofield to a night of inspirational conversation. Elder Cofield provided
the students with his high school transcripts indicating to students the need for perseverance in
spite of apparent setbacks in life. Elder and Minister Cofield are now the Founder and CEO of
Make A Child Smile Foundation, Inc.

Career Goals
AAMI at GSC would like to thank Mrs. Tonya Moore for reaching out to assist with the
mission of AAMI and B2B members by presenting four workshops targeting career goals
and opportunities. The program appreciates Mrs. Moore for her time and willingness.
A Day at the MLK
National Historic Site
Students created their own thoughtful pose at
the Mahatma Gandhi statue, and they decided
to one day achieve success to serve a greater
purpose for humanity.

Continuing the GSC AAMI Living-Learning Community

After several weeks of preparing the USG -AAMI Grant for the fiscal year 2014-2015, we
were informed that we received the grant for the upcoming academic year. Of the twenty
institutions that submitted proposals, we were one of the fourteen programs funded.

Special thanks to Mrs. Michele Perry-Stewart, Dr. Venable, Mrs. Rhonda Toon, Dr. Burns,
Mrs. April Smith (E.P. Roberts Director) and Mrs. Terry Betkowski for making this grant
possible.
