It shows the basis on which Examiners were instructed to award marks. It does not indicate the details of the discussions that took place at an Examiners’ meeting before marking began, which would have considered the acceptability of alternative answers. Mark schemes should be read in conjunction with the question paper and the Principal Examiner Report for Teachers. Cambridge will not enter into discussions about these mark schemes. Cambridge is publishing the mark schemes for the May/June 2015 series for most Cambridge IGCSE®, Cambridge International A and AS Level components and some Cambridge O Level components. ® IGCSE is the registered trademark of Cambridge International Examinations. It is expected that the candidates answer in sentences in their own words. 4 maximum marks per question for content +2 maximum marks per question for language. Beware of lifting. Lifting = word-for-word copying from the text instead of an answer that is tailor-made to the question. Often a candidate who lifts will copy large chunks of text in the hope that the Examiner will be able to select the relevant bits that might constitute an answer, which is NOT allowed. 2 language marks: clear appropriate language and vocabulary in the candidate’s own words. Few technical errors and no lifting. 1 language mark: for partially successful communication of the answer, but with a few errors and occasional lifting. 0 language marks: thin, inappropriate use of language and limited vocabulary. Response can be confused and/or obscure. Basic errors. Heavy reliance on lifting. 33 (Any four from the following or similar) • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark © Cambridge International Examinations 2015 Page 7 Mark Scheme Cambridge O Level – May/June 2015 Syllabus 3204 Paper 02 34 (Any four from the following or similar) • 1 mark • • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark 1 mark 35 (Any four from the following or similar) • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • • 1 mark • 1 mark 1 mark 36 (Any four from the following or similar) • 1 mark • • 1 mark 1 mark 1 mark • 1 mark • • 1 mark © Cambridge International Examinations 2015 Page 8 Mark Scheme Cambridge O Level – May/June 2015 Syllabus 3204 Paper 02 37 (Any four from the following or similar) 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 38 (Any four from the following or similar) 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • 1 mark • © Cambridge International Examinations 2015 Page 9 Mark Scheme Cambridge O Level – May/June 2015 Syllabus 3204 Paper 02 [10] C7 Vocabulary (The following or similar) 39 2 marks 40 2 marks 41 2 marks 42 2 marks 43 2 marks © Cambridge International Examinations 2015
