Weekend College is designed to meet the unique needs of an adult learner. One‐on‐one advising helps you to plan for success and outstanding faculty members provide personalized instruc on. Students a end classes as a cohort: a small, interdisciplinary professional group with similar interests and career paths. Classes meet one weekend per month. Substan al assignments are completed online – on your me and schedule. College credit may be assigned through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), which includes departmental exams. Admissions Requirements: Successful comple on of ENGL 1101 and MATH 1001 or MATH 1111 (grade of C or be er) at an accredited college or university and 5 years since high school comple on. Candidates with an associate’s degree or 45‐60 hours of transferable college credit will receive priority. Degree requirement: Students who lack an associate degree must complete (online or at the main campus) the Gordon State College core curriculum. Prior Learning Credits: This program is individualized: prior learning credits may be awarded (maximum 24) through the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA); including departmental ‘challenge’ exams; remaining courses are selected in collabora on with the student’s academic adviser. ‘Being a Weekend College student has allowed me to con nue my educa on, work, and s ll have quality me with my family.
