Cambridge AICE Diploma involves the selection of subjects from curriculum groups.
An A Level counts as a double-credit qualification and an AS Level as a single-credit
qualification within the Cambridge AICE Diploma award framework.
To be considered for an AICE Diploma, a candidate must earn the equivalent of six credits by
passing a combination of examinations at either double credit or single credit, with at least
one course coming from each of the three curriculum groups.
AS Global Perspectives (8987) counts as a single credit in the Cambridge AICE Diploma.
Global Perspectives (8987) falls into Group 4, ‘Global Perspectives’, not Group 3, ‘Arts
and Humanities’ as indicated in the syllabus booklet. Therefore, AS Global Perspectives
cannot be used to meet the requirement to obtain one credit in each of the curriculum groups
1, 2 and 3. It can, however, count towards fulfilling the requirement for six credits.
The examinations are administered in May/June and October/November series each year.
