This will require a substitution once you have received a grade in this course. However, the faculty has not decided on a revised list of 200-level option courses. If you plan on taking this awesome course, let’s visit about where it fits in your degree plan. ANS 427X – Beef Cattle Cow-Calf Management – 3 credits – Dr. Patrick Gunn § This course will be taught each fall, and ANS 426 will be taught each spring and be changed to Beef Cattle Feedlot Management. You may take both of these courses, however, you may only use ONE of them as one of your 400-level option courses. The second one will be an elective. ANS 223 – Poultry Science – 3 credits – Dr. Elizabeth Bobeck. § WILL be taught in the fall. Carver Scholarship Twenty awards of $5,200 each (renewable for one year) will be awarded for the 2016-17 academic year. Requirements: § Evidence of significant social and economic obstacles to attending college full time § Graduate or accredited Iowa high school or Iowa resident for 5 years § Junior classification in Fall 2016 § Minimum GPA of 2.80 § Demonstrate financial need on basis of the FAFSA (filed by March 1st) Application Deadline: April 1st. IFAA Winner’s Circle Scholarship College-bound Iowa youth active in 4-H and/or FFA livestock and agricultural projects and current undergraduate students may apply for scholarships available from the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement (IFAA). Applicants must major in animal science or a curriculum in agriculture or human sciences that is related to the agriculture industry. Winners will be announced during the 2016 Iowa State Fair annual 4-H/FFA Sale of Champions on Saturday, August 20th, an event sponsored by IFAA. Winner's Circle scholarship funds come from a percentage of Sale of Champions proceeds as well as Winner’s Circle Club donations. Milk Marketing-Dairy Products; five from the National Dairy Shrine/Dairy Management, Inc. Education & Communication Scholarships; two from NDS/McCullough; and MORE! Swine Teaching Farm Summer Job – Ames, IA Looking for 2 to 3 students to work on the Swine Farm and/or operating tractors and trailers. Must be a hard working individual and be able to work without supervision. Students will learn the entire process of raising pigs. Positions can be full-time or part-time. We use all A.I for our breeding, and farrow 100 head every 7 weeks. There will be some general farm maintenance jobs. Very flexible work hours to work around class schedules.
